If you are interested in joining / creating an online Spec Fic book club and need a home for it, this forum is available.
I can set each book club up with their own "Category". If you are interested I suggest that you narrow it down to something like "YA Fantasy", or "Historical Fantasy" or whatever appeals to you the most, but you don't want to be to narrow in your focus after all if there are several different book clubs here then you can easily join more then one.
Post to this thread if you are interested, what kind of books you want it to cover etc.
Oh if there are any book clubs created and hosted here, I will be more then happy to include some info on the main page about them, with links, we do get a ton of daily visitors to the wiki (usually around 200) so that might bring in more members.
What does everyone think about Naomi Novik's latest book "A Deadly Education"? I am still very fascinated with it and have re-read it so many times I've lost count. A bit disappointed that the sequel is now delayed until September, but it can't be helped. See my review for more gushing ... Review - A Deadly Education (Scholomance 1) by Naomi Novik
I'm currently reading the Temeraire Series by Naomi Novik. I've seen this series around for a few years but honestly the only aspect of the series based on the description that interested me was the Dragons. The rest just isn't something that appeals to me. It is set in an Alternate History Earth, during the Napoleon Wars. I don't mind Alternate History as it can be fun to read, but I prefer North America if that happens, so European Alt History just isn't appealing, then there are the Wars! Again not something I want to read too much of ..... but, then I read Scholomance by Naomi Novik, 3 times in a row ... and decided to give this series a try by reading the first book at least. Novik is such an amazing writer, especially in the world building aspect that I was pulled into the series. there are 9 main books in the series and right now I am taking a little break between #7 and #8, mostly because I need to get ready for the Holidays and some other projects .. anyway, would love to discuss this series with anyone else that is reading it or is thinking about it or just want to talk about it ....
I would like to recommend “Sunshine” by Robin McKinley for any one that likes urban fantasy. You should probably read my Review of it first so you will know what to expect.
We are just getting started but there are already a lot of books listed. Be sure and check out the top navigation and let us know if it could be improved in any way.
It is always a good idea to either start at an authors page or one of the categories. If you are concerned about the content, there are categories for Explicit Content Ratings as well as by types of books.
If you have any questions or suggestions please post them.... Star
